Replaced both the shower screen and gasket on a Breville Touch Impress. Interesting design on the shower screen with its integrated membrane and intricate details in each of the holes. IMS explains that the membrane helps to block the passage of extraction residue which assists in maintaining a clean group head. The complex pattern in the little holes is said to increase turbulence contributing to a claimed 30% increase in crema. Extract times remained consistent, and the shots appear to have additional foam, even as the coffee aged over a few weeks.

Note that the new gasket seems a bit more firm and offers a slightly better fit with the IMS screen compared to the Breville one. I reached the screw stop when snugging the new screen up to the four-month-old original gasket but it's fine with the new one. These IMS screens also have two small notches on each side, presumably to help keep the surface cleaner where the side of the screen fits up against the gasket. They seemed a bit sharp initially and so I used emery cloth to smooth them a little along with the top ring of the screen so as to preserve the gasket surface. After about a dozen or so extracts and normal group head rinse and backflush, the screen was nearly clean as new with very little visible residue. Overall, the screen kit looks to be doing its job very well.

Tight portafilter

The new setup is a definite improvement. No more channeling. The filter is a bit tight on the head, but mostly seals OK. Occasional leak around the gasket.

Great mix of upgraded parts, and better price as a kit than all purchased separately. I needed to replace my gasket and decided to try this kit.

I can definitely see the quality difference vs the stock equipment, and it has improved my shots.

The kit was marked out of stock even though all the individual components of the kit showed availability. Messaged Caffewerks on Instagram about it, and they fixed it same day.

Great kit and great customer service

Great customer service here, I asked to change the basket that came with kit and they said no problem and drafted me an invoice. Then when I got the kit I noticed portafilter handle was damaged. I emailed them and right away they sent out a new one that same day with a return label for the old one.

Kit breakdown;

Portafilter is beautiful, quality is great, and it fits the Breville bambino plus perfectly. I was hesitant to buy this since it had so few reviews but so glad I did. Note, this is a bottomless portafilter so expect some channeling and spraying as you’re learning. They’re meant to help you learn how to adjust how you prepare your puck and grind.

Shower screen - easy enough to install just unscrew old one and put new one in

Basket - got the ims basket and it’s great. Can hold 20g without grinds overflowing everywhere like my old portafilter

Puck screen - haven’t used it yet but seems solid. Know there’s a lot of contention on whether one is needed.

Overall

Great value for this kit. I needed a basket and portafilter. This kit gave me the rest for free as compared to buying individual parts.

Great basket

IMS basket is a big improvement over the one that came with my Bambino Plus. Better capacity and better coffee. Only downside is that it is a tight fit at first and can be tough to remove for cleaning. A minor inconvenience for much better results.

Great fit, great coffee

Fit's both my Breville portafilter and my after market bottomless portafilter very well, nice and snug. First impressions on the coffee are that I immediately had to grind a few steps finer and it's working much better with my bottomless portafilter than the stock basket did. Very pleased.
